Founded in 1938 by Ed McFadden, Troop 15 is one of the oldest scouting troops in San Francisco. Continuously sponsored by St. Anne of the Sunset, Troop 15 has an active program focused on hiking, camping, community service, and summer camp for boys between the ages of 11-17. The troop seeks to develop the mental, physical, and leadership potential of scouts by focusing on the four aims of Scouting: character development, citizenship training, leadership development, and personal fitness.
We strive to instill these principles with the ultimate goal of maintaining a "boy-run" troop where youth work together to learn and build confidence through their accomplishments, with trained adult leaders serving as advisors guide, support and to ensure national safety and activity standards are met. At Troop 15 we provide a range of activities and learning experiences for all interests, including hiking, camping, and backpacking throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area, community service projects, leadership training opportunities, summer camp and high adventure programs, and numerous merit badges.
